Stockpile volumetric measurement is necessary for inventory of gravels, sand, coal and ores which are usually keep in form of mountain size piling, to archive accurate measurements, the right survey tool and calculation software is required.
Tensile Creator Co.,Ltd. provides stockpile measurement service by using laser scanner. The scanner will collect millions of surface's positions by measuring distant from scanner to the surface then arrange them into 3D image using internal motion sensor. But in such a large outdoor area with fewer reference point we need to connect the scanner to RTK GNSS satellite receiver for data correction and prevent scanner drifting. (Each point is only a few millimeters apart.)
This survey method gives complete and very accurate data. (Less than 15mm error) and uses shorter survey time, 10 minutes for 10,000 m2 (Scanner has scanning radius of 125 m)

The volumetric calculation software creates small cubic 10cm x 10cm stick and replicate the shape of the point cloud. Then the volume is calculated from the volume of overall small cubic.
